We are a group of passionate people dedicated to ending cruelty by saving the lives of abandoned cats and kittens in the community.
We moved into our new shelter at the end of December 2007! Our sincere thanks to all of you who donated towards the purchase of our new kitty condos and all the improvements that we needed.
We started work at our new shelter this year with a rude awakening to the reality of the current economic pressures. Within the first 60 days, we had taken in over 20 abandoned adult cats- all on Marco Island! Sweethearts- every one of them- left outside of foreclosed and vacant properties. Frightened, confused, dirty and hungry- none of these cats would have survived on the streets. Thankfully, after a lot of promotion, all of these cats have a new loving home.
From our start in 2002, to the end of 2007, we have rescued close to 800 kittens and sterilized over 200 cats who live in protected colonies with daily caregiving.
